Hebei North University is a government administrated multi-faculty university, which offers both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs. The university was founded in September 2003 after gaining the approval by the Ministry of Education (MOE). It is made up of three former provincially administrated institutions of higher learning in the city of Zhangjiakou: Zhangjiakou Medical College (ZJKMC), Zhangjiakou Teachers College (ZJKTC), and Zhangjiakou Advanced Postsecondary Agronomy School (ZJKPAS). Hebei North University stands proud in being the only multi-faculty university in the northern region of Hebei Province.

The city boast rapid growth, radiant landscapes and warm people. Zhangjiakou has made notable progress in terms of growth and development and has transcended to being nominated as one of the host cities for the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics.

In comparison with other universities in China, Hebei North stands tall due to the countless perquisites the school offers. The question one may pose is, “What sets the university apart from others?”, “Why are more students keen in graduating from this institute?” initiating the plan of internationalising the university in the year 2005, just a year after the first ever internationalisation of a Chinese University. The university is unarguably one of the pioneers of quality education. Till date the school blows its own trumpet in admitting 1200 students from 75 countries across the globe over the last decade. The school endeavours in reefing students and making them eligible to undertake any council examinations. To substantiate this – one of the graduates of Hebei North University that undertook the Pakistan Medical and Dental licensure Examinations, excelled with an 85 percent pass rate in 2012. In addition to this point, other students have excelled in the WHO-recognised licensure exams such as USMLE, AMC and GMA. These facts clear all doubts and fears of the school not being endorsed by WHO and Ministries of Education in several countries.

Hebei North University is keen on establishing a diversified educational system. Its admittance of students have grew exponentially and this gave rise to the implementation of master’s degree programs and many specialization courses. This institute aspires to give holistic education by coupling academic work, specifically MBBS, with comprehensive practical lesson and extracurricular activities such as sport and tourism. This adds a whole new dimension to education. The university can yet again blow its own horn about its accolades. The schools soccer team is currently the champions of the provincial tertiary institutions soccer competition. The basketball and volleyball teams have also made a good name for themselves.

This contributes to the betterment of the student in terms of being able to communicate fluently in one of the languages that is rapidly making its presence known globally.
