The Beijing-Zhangjiakou intercity railway, also known as the Jingzhang intercity railway, is a high-speed railway currently under construction between Beijing and Zhangjiakou in Hebei province. This route will have a length of approximately 173.947 kilometers of double tracked high speed rail, with a maximum speed of 350 km/h (220 mph) between Changping and Donghuayuan North. However within urban Beijing the maximum speed is restricted to between 80 to 120 km/h (50 to 75 mph). The rest of the line has a designed speed of 250 km/h (160 mph) but operating at 200 km/h (120 mph). The line is expected to open to public in December 2019. This railway is expected to connect with the future Zhangjiakou–Hohhot high-speed railway and Datong–Zhangjiakou high-speed railway (zh), both also currently under construction.
The new train station also located in the City of Zhangjiakou is expected to open to the public in December 2019.
