About China IT

Beijing Insitute of Technology is a co-educational public university that was established in 1940.It is a major research university under the administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Also a member of the National Key Universities,Projecct 211 and Project 985 it has been given a priority sponsorship from the Chinese government,the Commission of Science,Technology and Industry for National Defense, The Ministry of Education and Beijing metropolitan Government.

BIT's main campus is located in Zhuongguancun area of northwest of Beijing. This area is also know as an area with an increasingly high number of universities, research institutions, high-tech companies, as well as knowledge and information industries.

Historically, BIT was widely considered to the amoung the the top 20 universities in China. In recent national level evaluations BIT was one of the first 15 universities to be designated with Project 211 initiative. It was also the 10th university to be designated with the even more prestigious project 985. In 2014 BIT ranked in the top 300 universities in the world according to QS world university rankings. It ranked 29th in QS Asian university rankings and 39th in BRICS university rankings. On top of all that it was ranked 17th best university in China. According to the China Discipline Rankings BIT's ranked amoung the top 10 nationally in the following disciplines:
