China Universities
China’s C9 League is often likened to the US “Ivy League” and is compared as the equivalent in China. Formed in 2009, it’s an alliance of nine of the most prestigious universities in China. Fudan University, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nanjing University, Harbin University of Technology, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, University of Science and Technology of China and Shanghai Jiao Tong University are the nine members of this league. Seven of these schools are ranked among the top 150 schools in the world. The main aim of this alliance is to improve the quality of education and research in China. These Universities strive to achieve world-class excellence and can boast of numerous academic achievements both home and abroad. These schools have also opened their doors to foreign students from all over the world to take advantage of the high standard education they have on offer.
Fudan University
Fudan University is located in Shanghai, one of China’s prominent cities. Fudan offers numerous English-taught courses including 21 Master’s Degree Programs. The school currently has more than 3 000 overseas students enrolled and has an even larger number of about 10 000 in their international alumni.
Tsinghua University
Established over a century ago, Tsinghua University greatly values interactions between Chinese and Western cultures. The university currently has 20 schools and 54 departments and 46 200 registered students. Tsinghua has commonly been ranked 2nd in Mainland China following closely after the world famous Peking University.
Zhejiang University
This university’s motto is “Seek the Truth and Pioneer Innovation” and it has certainly been a pioneer in education and research in China. Zhejiang University has 7 campuses and a well-stocked library with 6.8 million volumes in its collection. IT has attained numerous national awards and has remarkable research facilities including 10 National Key specialized laboratories.
Peking University
Peking University is a magnificent sight to behold, its buildings are a blend of traditional and modern architectural style. Located in China’s capital city, Beijing, this school is a national key university and considered 1st among all universities in China. It has also appeared among the top 10 universities in Asia.
