This University was founded in January, 2012, working as an important platform for promoting educational internationalization;it sets the foundation of international academic researching and talents training. This University has made great progress in designing international courses taught in English,developing student-exchange programsand promoting the creation of the study abroad training centre. Yunnan University’s combination of Chinese traditional culture, history and national conditions, led to the design of many international courses for undergraduate and graduate students.

Students who apply to this program can register for regular courses of Chinese language and Chinese culture at any time during the year.International students should mainly register for the non-degree Chinese programs in spring and autumn. According to the students' Chinese ability, they may choose to attend the Elementary courses, Intermediate courses or advanced courses.Students with special interests may also choose to study by one on one or one on two lessons which allows students to attain 100% full attention from their teachers.

Required courses consist of:

Comprehensive oral listening, comprehensive primary reading and writing, listening and speaking, intermediate listening and speaking, intermediate reading and writing, advanced listening and speaking, advanced reading and writing and Chinese culture.
