On May 13-14, the finals of 8th National Clinical Skills Competition for Students from Colleges and Universities of Higher Medical Education was held in Zhengzhou University. 42 of 105 colleges and universities were elected in the finals through selection of co-hose district, Dalian Medical University won Special Award in this competition, and this is the third time for Dalian Medical University to win Special Award.
The competing team of Dalian Medical University consists of Chen Junzhu, Wang Yiru, Dong Xuepeng and Ren Sihang from Class 2011, 7-Year Program in the major of Clinical Medicine Science in Second Clinical College. They ranked the forefront with skilled clinical skills, deep personal theories, and tacit teamwork. National Clinical Skills Competition for Students from Colleges and Universities of Higher Medical Education is one of ten competitions of the colleges and universities under the Ministry of Education and has been known as the Olympic Games for medical students. Dalian Medical University has gained excellent results in the previous competitions, won three Special Awards, two First Awards, one Second Awards and one Third Awards, and has won six First Awards in the Northeast District for six consecutive competitions. In order cultivate high-quality medical talents to meet the needs of society, Dalian Medical University has paid great attention to the cultivation and training of clinical practice ability for medical students. Dalian Medical University advocates the concept of “early clinical practice, more clinical practice and repeated clinical practice”, strengthens the reform of training mode for medical talents, and clarifies the talent training objective of “cultivating innovative and applied talents with strong practice ability in the combination of medical scientific spirit and medical humanities spirit”.
