Jilin HuaQiao University of Foreign Languages (HQUFL) is located in Changchun, along the tourist belt of Jingyue National Fores-t. HQUFL was founded in 1995. In 2003，it was accredited by the Ministry of Education to offer undergraduate courses, and hence, be-came the first private four-year foreign language institute to issue bachelor’s degree in the whole country. In 2005, the school bega-n to enroll postgraduates under a joint program with other universities, and in 2011, with the approval of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, the school began to offer Master programs in Translation and Interpretation (MTI). In 2007, the school was entitl-ed as a key institution of higher education in Jilin Province, and in 2010, it became the only school to pilot for the national educatio-nal system reform project “Exploration of School Operation Mode for Public Welfare in Private Colleges”. HQUFL has now become  an important educational base in the province focusing on the cultivation of advanced application-oriented personnel in the area of foreign languages and foreign affairs.

30 undergraduate programs and 4 master programs are offered at HQUFL ,covering four disciplines related as the humanities, ec-onomics, management and education. With twelve foreign language programs offered, including English, Japanese, Korean,  Russia-n,  French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Mongolian, Indonesian and Arabic, the university enjoys the leading position in the  province in foreign language education. HQUFL has about 10000 students (undergraduates, graduates and international students), as well as 800 faculty and staff, including 50 international teachers from 14 countries.
