HQUFL places talent cultivation as top priority with high attention paid to intrinsic development, pursuing unique features and el-ite education. Currently, the university has National Educational Reform Project, National Practice Teaching Demonstration Center, 1 National Special Course, 4 provincial Brand Courses, 8 provincial “12th Five Year Special Course” and 10 provincial Elite Teaching te-ams. It also has 19 provincial Quality Courses and 31 provincial Excellent Courses. It has won one national teaching achievement awar-d and 10 provincial teaching achievement awards.
HQUFL insist on the strategy of international education, focusing on cultivating foreign-oriented talents who has international vi-ew, and develop international communication and cooperation positively. At present , HQUFL has partnership with more 100 universiti-es world wide in more than 20 countries, including Massey University (New Zealand),University of Newcastle (Australia), Universidad- de Salamanca(Spain), Loyola University Chicago (USA),Sophia University (Japan),the National University of Mongolia (Mongolia), etc. By far there are two joint-degree programs (Finance and German Language) approved by Education Ministry cooperated with Univer-sities in USA and Germany respectively.
HQUFL accepted international students since it was founded in 1995. Over the years, the university has welcomed almost a thous-and international students from more than 20 countries in Asia, Europe, America and Africa, including Russia, Korea, Italy, Japan, Mexi-co, Portugal, Spain, Cameroon, Nigeria, Mongolia and so on. In addition to Master and Bachelor Degree programs, HQUFL also off-er Chinese Language and Culture Courses, Chinese Business, English Business training sessions, summer and winter camps. On Nove-mber 3, 2015，the Confucius Institute (CI),co-founded by the New Jersey City University (NJCU)and Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign Languages (HQUFL), was officially launched.
Presently, a talent cultivation system integrating undergraduate and postgraduate programs has been well formed. Now HQUFL is striving to become a high-level private university for the public welfare. The goal of HQUFL is to become a leading private foreign lan-guage university with distinctive features by the year of 2020, to further strive to attain administrative democracy, institutionalization and internationalization, to become a high-level application-oriented private foreign language university with a competitive edge in China and high influence in the world.
