Guangdong Lingnan Institute of Technology (LIT), established in May 2001, was approved by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, and authorized by the Ministry of Education, as a private, full-time and comprehensive institution of higher education for enrolling students within and outside Guangdong Province and issuing educational qualifications.

Located in the Guangzhou Science Park, the eastern part of Tianhe District, with the western side bordering on the Guangzhou Tianhe Software Park of National Software Industry Base, and the southern side bordering on the Olympic Sports Center, LIT possesses a strategic location with beautiful environments. LIT Campus covers an area of 696 acres, divided into three sub-campuses. LIT has a building area of 260,000 square meters, with teaching equipment’s worth 60 million yuan RMB, 120 multi-media classrooms, and 133 training sites. The LIT Library has more than 1 million copies of publications, qualified for the National Level 2 Standards of Information. LIT offers complete sport facilities, including an indoor stadium with national standards, 400-meter track field, and other physical training sites. LIT has 779 administrative and academic staff members (full and part time), working as a high quality and well-structured team.
