Delegation of Poltava National Technical University Visits BJUT
Recently, Chancellor Volodymyr Onyshchenko and Vice-Chancellor Svitlana Sivitska of Poltava National Technical University visited BJUT. President Liu Gonghui of BJUT met with the delegation. Vice-President Wu Bin and related personnel of the International Office attended.
President Liu Gonghui welcomed the delegation and spoke of the history, current situation, strong disciplines, and detailed BJUT’s recent progress in scientific research and the QS world university rankings.
Vice-Chancellor Svitlana Sivitska briefly introduced Poltava National Technical University. Chancellor Volodymyr Onyshchenko thanked BJUT and expressed optimism in the continuing progress of both universities in the areas of academic exchange, periodical review, awards of double degrees, and summer schools.
Finally, the two universities signed a memorandum of cooperation marking the beginning of formal cooperation, entailing the awarding of joint degrees, collaborative research and much more.
The delegation of Hasso Plattner Institute from Germany Visited BJUT
Recently, President Christoph Meinel in Hasso Plattner Institute(HPI) and Professor Cheng Feng visited BJUT. Wu Bin, Vice President in BJUT met with the delegation. Faculties from International Office and Faculty of Information Technology attended.
Vice President Wu Bin extended his welcome and appreciation toward the visiting delegation. He reflected on the 15-year co-operation between BJUT and HPI, acknowledging President Christoph Meinel’s contribution to academic co-operation with BJUT.
President Christoph Meinel expressed his appreciation to BJUT and gave a brief introduction to HPI and the opportunities for further collaboration.
Qiao Junfei, Director of Personnel Department and Faculty of Information Technology gave a brief introduction to disciplines and professors & students in Faculty of Information Technology, remarking that with 15-year cooperation already, future collaboration can only get better.
During the meeting, it was stated that the future direction will focus on Internet engineering and international research program, joint training of graduate students and development of MOOC platform.
China's 3D Printing Material Seminar Held in BJUT
With the support of Chinese Academy of Engineering and organized by Nanjing Tech University and Beijing University of Technology, China’s 3D Printing Material Seminar was held in BJUT on March 26th. Dai Keirong, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and 17 other experts attended the seminar where they discussed the application of 3D printing technology in bio-medicine and aerospace technology. About 100 representatives from more than 50 institutes were in attendance.
Representing Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhou Lian delivered the opening speech, which explained the background and significance of the seminar. He noted, as a new development, 3D Printing Technology is receiving more attention from technological powers all over the world. However, there is an obvious gap of 3D Printing Technology especially 3D Printing Material between China and developed countries.
Representing BJUT, Vice President Nie Zuoren extended his warm welcome to the representatives and introduced recent 3D printing research development in BJUT.
At the seminar, the experts discussed the application of 3D printing technology in aerospace technology and digital medicine.
Later the representatives visited BJUT’s Digital Medical of & Technology Research Center, exhibiting the 3D Printing achievements made by BJUT.
