Tennis Team Gains Achievements In National College Tennis Championships Division
The 22nd National College Tennis Championships Division Series was held in Ningbo University from April 21st to 23rd. ZUST tennis men’s team won the championship in the first division and qualified for this year’s team events of the National College Tennis Championships. In addition, ZUST women’s team won the sixth place in the first division and qualified for individual events.
ZUST men’s team got into the knockout elimination phase on top of the groups phase with members Shi Jiabing from Class 134 of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Zhang Zhuoxin from class 131 of Financial Management, Guo Jialin from Class 152 of Applied Physics and Chen Guanchang from Class 141 of Packaging Engineering. In the knockout elimination phase, they won the finals championships after defeating the East China Area champion of last year.
ZUST women’s team consisting of Zhang Yi from Class 131 of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Cai Nanping from Class 132 of Water Supply and Drainage Science and Engineering, Li Xingxiao from Class 163 of Civil Engineering (Sino-French) and Liu Xiaomin from Class 141 of Economics got an excellent grade even though it was the first time for them to participate in the national tennis match. Competing with the champion and runner-up of last year in group phase, they successfully got into the knockout elimination phase with a 1 win and 1 loss record and finally won the sixth place.
Teacher Exchange Zhejiang Group Of Our Hong Kong Foundation Visits ZUST
Under the auspice of the Ministry of Education and Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R., ZUST received the teacher exchange Zhejiang group of Our Hong Kong Foundation in Hangzhou during April 16th to 19th, 2017.
On the morning of April 18th, the delegation arrived at Xiaoheshan campus. Heads of functional departments in ZUST such as Student Affairs Office, Office of Teaching Affairs, Office for Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs, and Youth League Committee attended the meeting. They gave a detailed introduction about the general information of ZUST, particularly on the implementation and achievements of university students’ academic competitions, their innovation and entrepreneurship education. Then the two sides deepened their discussion and communication. After the meeting, the delegation visited the China-Germany Cooperation Pavilion, China-Germany Friendship Garden and Sci-tech Incubation Park.
ZUST made a deep and positive impression on the delegation by its distinguished international education, application-oriented university disciplines, diversified innovation and entrepreneurship emphasis and beautiful campus scenery. This meeting has expanded ZUST's influence and built a solid foundation for further educational cooperation with Hong Kong universities.
Art Corner On Campus: A Showcase For Talent
Spring is around the corner, the sun is shining and the birds are chirping. Students from the ZUST Art Ensemble, under the guidance of their instructors, have been rehearsing in recent days in public places, such as the meadow near Xihe Dormitory and the mid-lake pavilion. The melodious tunes echo the glee of spring sunshine.
It is reported that the ZUST Art Ensemble will organize a succession of art activities such as recital, dancing, drama and a music festival in the meadow.
