Degree Programs for International Students
Southwestern University offers multiple degree programs to international students and reviews applicants’ comprehensive qualities and abilities. There are English-taught programs and Chinese-taught programs. All the programs are full-time.
1. List and Duration of Degree Programs

2. Eligibility
(1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport, be in good health, and abide by the laws and regulations of Chinese Government and local government, as well as regulations of SWUFE.
(2) Eligibility Screening is based on the regulations of Ministry of Education and other relevant departments of P.R.China.
(3) Education background:
i. Applicants for bachelor degree studies must have a graduate certificate from high schools
ii. Applicants for master's degree studies must have a bachelor's degree
iii. Applicants for doctoral degree studies must have a master's degree
(4) Applicants must meet all requirements of the majors, including academic level, research ability, language level and others.
3. Application time: January 1st, 2017 to July 15th, 2017
4. Minimum Language Requirements
(1) Programs taught in Chinese: HSK 4; or equivalent level
(2) Programs taught in English
For bachelor degree applicants: IELTS 5.5; or TOEFL 60; or equivalent level
For Master and PhD degree applicants: IELTS 6; or TOEFL 80; or equivalent level
5. Application procedures
(1) One passport photo taken within 6 months
(2) Highest educational degree or diploma certificate
(3) Highest educational transcript
(4) First page of your passport
(5) Two Recommendation Letters
For bachelor degree applicants, this document is optional. The referee should be professor or associate professor or person with relevant academic title.
(6) The copy of language certificate （if available）
(7) Other Optional documents
All documents should be presented in English or Chinese. If not, a translation version in English or Chinese is mandatory. Documents without translation in English or Chinese are not valid.
If necessary, Admission Office will require applicants to submit extra documents.
