BUU Student Art Group Attend Christmas Parade in New Zealand
New Zealand (Wellington) BUU Student Art Group attended Christmas Parade in New Zealand, on the invitation of Wellington City Council. Prof. Xu Yongli, Director of Beijing Research Center for Construction of Political Civilization and also the former Chairman of University Council of Beijing Union University (BUU), as well as Prof. Fu Chenguang, Vice Chairman of University Council of BUU, lead the team.
During this visit, the group was invited to meet relating officers in Chinese Embassy in New Zealand, Chinese Consulate in Christchurch and Wellington City Council. Also BUU Art Group gave a successful performance at University of Canterbury. A school agreement was signed between representatives from BUU and Whitireia Community Polytechnic.
Community Delegation of Taichung Visits
Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council PRC organized a visit with 80 community members in Taichung, Taiwan, to Beijing Union University (BUU). Mr. Miao Jingping, Deputy Director-General of Cross-straits Exchange Center, accompanied the visit. Prof. Zhang Liancheng, Vice President of BUU, met the delegates.
Deputy Director-General Miao Jingping acknowledged the Taiwan research at BUU. Prof. Zhang Liancheng hoped that this visit could promote BUU’s work in Taiwan affairs.
The delegation attended the lectures from Prof. Wang Weiguo, Director of Beijing Research Center for Construction of Political Civilization, and Prof. Liu Wenzhong, Vice Dean of Institute of Taiwan Studies. Later they visited Teaching Center at Tourism College.
Also presented in the meeting was relating staff from Cross-straits Exchange Center of Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council PRC and Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs at BUU.
Vice Chancellor of University of the West of Scotland Visits
Prof. Zhang Liancheng, Vice President of Beijing Union University (BUU), meets Dr. Craig Austin Mahoney, Principal and Vice Chancellor of University of the West of Scotland (UWS), Dr. Jeanne Kerrel Deay, Vice Principal, and Mr. Wang Yanbin, Assistant to Director of UWS China Office.
Prof. Zhang Liancheng acknowledged the achievements in academic and scientific fields between BUU and UWS since the relationship was established in 2000. He expects the collaboration would optimize the educational and teaching resources and nurture more professionals with international awareness for Beijing.
Dr. Craig Austin Mahoney expressed BUU is UWS’ earliest partner in China and also a valuable partner. He hopes that two universities could undertake collaboration in the fields of film production, education and tourism.
Also presented in the meeting was relating staff from Business College, Tourism College, Management College, College of International Education, as well as Division of International Exchange and Cooperation.
Vice Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University Visits
Prof. Zhang Liancheng, Vice President of Beijing Union University (BUU), meets Dr. Michael Thorne, Vice Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), in hope of undertaking further and deeper cooperation between BUU and ARU.
Prof. Zhang Liancheng extended his warmest welcome to Dr. Michael Thorne and gave high credits towards the collaboration between BUU and ARU in the recent years. He acknowledged the intensive exchanges and communications among faculty members and students while sharing the abundant and excellent teaching and educational resources.
Dr. Michael Thorne expressed his appreciation to Prof. Zhang Liancheng. He complimented the long term relationship between the two universities. And he hopes that both sides need to strive for deeper communication and cooperation in various fields.
