The 9th Conference on China Biometric Recognition is held in SUT
Cosponsored by Shenyang University of Technology (SUT), Institute of Automation of Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) and Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), the 9th Conference on China Biometric Recognition (CCBR 2014) was held in Shenyang from Nov 7 to Nov 9, 2014.
Prof. YUAN Weiqi, Chairman of CCBR2014, from the Department of Measurement and Control Technology and Instrument, School of Information Science and Engineering, hosted both the Opening and Closing Ceremony. Prof. LI Rongde, President of SUT, Mr. LI Hongyin Vice-chairman of Shenyang Association for Science and Technology (SAST), Academician TAN Tieniu, Deputy Secretary General of CAS, made opening speeches respectively.
The success of this Conference, which promotes the academic exchange and cooperation in the field of biometric recognition in China, has made a positive role in boosting the reputation and influence of SUT Information Discipline.
SUT Delegation wins 1st Prize in Liaoning Championship for Cheerleading and Street Dancin
The 2014 Liaoning Championship for Cheerleading and Street Dancing was held in the Stadium of SUT Central Campus from Nov 17 to Nov 18. After two days’ competition, the delegation of our university won the 1st Prize for Performance.

The weightlifting at the 12th China’s National Games was held ceremoniously at the Stadium of our university on the afternoon of Sep 3. 240 men and women athletes from 28 delegations across the country will compete in the game with15 levels.
The weightlifting competition lasts from Sep.3 to 11. 7 levels women’s event will be held from Sep 3 to 6 and 8 levels men’s event will be held from Sep 8 to 11.Wish the weightlifting at the 12th China’s National Games a big success in our university.
Party Secretary GUO Mingshun Attends the Academic Investigation in the East of USA
Party Secretary GUO Mingshun went to the east of USA to participate the Overseas Program for University Leaders from Chinese Mid-western Regions from May 9 to June 5, 2013. Proposed by Vice-premier of the State Council, LIU Yandong, and organized by the Ministry of education, this program is a significant oversea training program which is funded by Lee Shau Kee Foundation and Hongkong Peihua Education Foundation.
The program was conducted in steps. From May 9 to 16, there was a domestic training, in which the leaders mainly listened to the lectures made by experts and special reports by related leaders from the Ministry of Education in the National Academy of Education Administration. In USA, the delegation mainly participated the training in the University of Columbia, Ohio State University, Georgetown University and Rutgers University.
From June 8 to 9, University President Forum on the Review of the Overseas Program for University Leaders from Chinese Mid-western Regions and the International Vision of the Development of Higher Education was held in Beijing, in which Party Secretary GUO Mingshun hosted the forum session named Resource of University Development.
