A Delegation from Cardiff University pays a visit to CMU
From November 29th to December 1st, a delegation from Cardiff University made a visit to our university. The delegation consisted of Dean of Cardiff University Dentistry School Professor Alastair James Sloan, Chairman of CITER Professor Jean-Yves Maillard, Vice-Dean of Cardiff University Dentistry School Professor Bing Song.
On the morning of November 30th, CMU President Professor Wen Deliang met with the delegation in the fourth conference room at the main building. President Wen warmly welcomed the visit of the three guests. The two sides made in-depth discussions on possible future collaborations. President Wen expressed that efforts should be made on, based on the master-degree joint education program, promoting PhD joint education program and faculty training, especially training for young faculty and scientific research collaboration.
Dean of Cardiff University Dentistry School Alastair James Sloan expressed that he would try his best to promote cooperation in personnel exchange, scientific research and teaching exchange. Chairman of CITER Professor Jean-Yves Maillard, Vice-Dean of Cardiff University Dentistry School Professor Bing Song also expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation and deepen exchange. Vice President Liu Ying, Dean of the Stomatology School Lu Li and Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office) Wang Yiping attended the meeting.
In the afternoon, vice president Yu Xiaosong and the delegation made discussions on the cooperation details of PhD joint education program, young faculty training and scientific research exchange meetings. Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School Fu Weineng, Deputy Director of Human Resources Office Zhang Yiou, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office) Wang Yiping also attended the meeting.
During the visit, the Delegation made an interview for the 2018 prospective students of master-degree joint education program and made presentations about the master-degree joint education program and PhD joint education program. The delegation members respectively conducted academic exchanges at the School of Stomatology, the School of Pharmacy and the Second College of Clinical Medicine.
The delegation's visit is of great importance to deepen mutual friendship promote deeper exchange and expand cooperation fields with Cardiff University, and plays a positive role in promoting the internationalization process of our university.
