Founded in 1958, DPU's campus covers four-hundred seventy-thousand square meters. It is home to 16,000 undergraduate students and 1,600 graduate students. More than 400 international students study at here annually. As a multidisciplinary university, DPU offers degree courses in engineering, science, art, management, business, and the liberal arts, including 50 bachelor degree programs, 13 master degree programs, and 3 doctoral degree programs. Three of our prestigious degree programs are taught in English: Food Science and Engineering, International Economy and Trade, Computer Science and Technology. DPU offers a number of scholarships to make university study more affordable, including the Chinese Government Scholarship, Liaoning Government Scholarship, Dalian Government Scholarship, and Dalian Polytechnic University Scholarship. 

As an internationalized university, DPU offers international opportunities to students. DPU has links with 70 universities and other partners in 20 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea.  Among our prestigious partner universities is the University of Southampton, one of the top 100 universities in the world. DPU joins hands with it to offer dual degree programs. International students are eligible for all exchange programs with our global partners. DPU welcomes students from many different countries such as France, Italy, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Russia, Mongolia, Sweden, and Thailand.
