As one of the important contents of the Sino-British high-level cultural exchange communication mechanism, the 4th Sino-British College Sports Literature Week sponsored by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education, the China University Sports Association, the British Cultural Education Association, and undertaken by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Education, co-organized by the Shanxi Provincial Student Sports Association ended in Xi'an, Shanxi Province recently.
At the closing ceremony, the Portsmouth University men's team and the Beijing Normal University women's team held up the championship trophy. So far, the matches of the rugby program, during 4th Sino-British College Sports and Arts Week all have ended.
In the three-day competition, the six teams from Cambridge University, Northumbria University, Portsmouth University, and Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xiamen University and Beijing Normal University from China conducted 11 seven-a-side system rugby match, a 15-a-side rugby friendly match and a 7-a-side rugby mixed team friendly match, and participated in a series of rich cultural exchanges such as theme lectures, excursions, and student interactions.
Sports have no borders and communication has no boundaries. This event not only created an opportunity for our rugby team, students, coaches and referees to communicate and study with high-level institutions from the UK, and promoted the popularization and development of rugby football programs in China, but also played a positive role in promoting the communication in the fields of culture, education, sports etc. between two countries and promoting healthy development of Sino-British relations in the new era.
