Specialisations
This university offers three specialisations that are closely related and offer the student a coherent Master’s in which the different disciplines are interlinked as well as presenting the individual disciplines:
Art and Visual Culture
The research Master’s in Art and Visual Culture studies the relationship between art, the past and the present from various angles, including the interpretation of the cultural contexts of visual expressions and their transformations throughout the ages up to now.
Historical Studies
The research Master’s in Historical Studies brings historians together with literary, art and cultural scientists to construct critical histories of both the past and the present. We recognise that historical enquiry has important transformative potential on not just our ideas about the past but also on present day societies.
Literary Studies
The research Master’s in Literary Studies will teach you how to approach historical and contemporary texts from an international perspective, as well as how to examine the current societal significance of literature. By the end of the specialisation, you’ll be able to discuss literary texts and scholarly approaches with other scholars at the highest academic level.

Processing time varies for different applications. For example to process a degree program application requires more time than a Chinese language application. Confirmation for Chinese language application by the admission office usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. However, time for degree programs application differs. For example fall semester application processing is after March, and it takes a period of 1 to 2 months. This also depends on your qualification and the number of applicants.
