Environmental Engineering aims to cultivate senior professionals prepared with the concept of sustainable development, the ability of pollution prevention, control project and its design and management for water, gas, noise and solid waste and pollutions, the ability of research and development of new technology, new equipment, pollutant analysis and monitoring, to carry out environmental impact assessment, environmental planning and environmental management, being able to work in the government environmental protection and planning department, design units, environmental protection, industrial and mining enterprises, scientific research units, such as departments of environmental management, planning, design, construction, operation and technical R & D senior for environmental engineering programs and projects.
Requirements upon the completion of the program
(1) to master Marxism, Mao Zedong thought, the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics and humanities and social science knowledge, to obtain superior quality in humanities, social responsibility, teamwork spirit and communication skills;
(2) to master the skills of foreign languages, information technology, use of computer and other tools, with independent ability of lifelong learning and adaptation to development;
(3) to master mathematics, physics, chemistry, environmental microbiology, ecology and so on disciplinary basic knowledge and skills in environmental analysis and monitoring, water pollution control engineering, air pollution control engineering, solid waste treatment engineering, physical pollution control engineering;
(4) to apply the basic principle and the specialized knowledge of mathematics, natural science, engineering, for identification and expression based on literature, experiment and scientific investigation and studies for analysis and solving complex engineering problems;
(5) to design solutions for complex problems of environmental engineering, designed to meet the specific needs of the system, the unit (components) or process, and embody the sense of innovation in the design process, in sense of society, health, and safety, law, culture and environment factors;
(6) based on engineering related background knowledge to analyze and evaluate engineering practice and complicated engineering problem rationally for the coupled influence of society, health, and safety, law and culture and to understand the responsibility of mankind.
