Program Description
Light Chemical Engineering is a kind of Engineering technology that using chemicals as raw materials to prepare daily, personal products and industrial additives. Compared with traditional chemical engineering, light chemical industry locates at the higher end of industrial chain and has the characteristic of free of pollution, lower energy consumption and producing higher value-added products. Major of Light Chemical Engineering is built to meet the development of this kind of urban industry and demands of society to advanced light chemical engineering talents.
The core of the program consists of a series of courses in physical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics, transport phenomena, kinetics, separations, thermodynamics, reaction engineering, process engineering, and engineering economics. The program trains students to be competent engineers, through offering a variety of challenging courses and problem-solving sessions, providing state-of-the-art laboratories, and helping students gain design and teamwork experiences through conducting senior design projects of participating in research projects.
