Gynecology and Obstetrics

1. Program Introduction

With the study duration of three years, the program of Obstetrics and Gynecology is divided into two stages: course work and clinical internship / scientific research. Students for both master’s programs of biomedicine and medical science should finish first-year coursework. Based on their emphasis in research, they could select courses from a common curriculum system and complete at least 16 credits. They are also required to attend the frontier science forum organized by the school at least eight times, which can also be added to the total credit requirement.
A qualification exam is set at the end of the first academic year. Only those who pass the exam are eligible to continue on with the program. They are also expected to finish master’s dissertation during the second or third year.
Throughout the master’s program, students are free to participate in research activities in different departments of basic medicine and clinical medicine. Generally, the research activities are in forms of weekly seminars or small academic symposiums.

Graduation Requirements

Students are required to complete their dissertation on the basis of clinical practice and scientific research training and obligated to publish at least one piece of article related to their dissertation on official publications as primary author (Shandong University should be the primary institution) during the master period. After completion of the master’s programs, qualified candidates could be conferred master’s degrees in their specific research fields, such as Master of Physiology, or Master of Internal Medicine.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree.
Admission of candidates who do not meet this criterion may be approved if satisfactory evidence of postgraduate study, research or professional experience can be provided.
Applicants with English as native language are exempted from English Language certificate
Applicants from non-English speaking countries must provide IELTS (6.0 or above), new TOEFL (80 points or above) or other comparable certification of English proficiency.
Applicants who have obtained their highest degree with English as the medium of instruction are exempted from providing language proficiency certification,but proof indicating the language medium is required.

§ Question: What is the cost of applying through ACASC?

Answer: ACASC charges a service fee of 50$ for using its online application portal. Applying through ACASC into Chinese universities attracts a service fee of $50.

· Question: Can I apply to the university directly?

· Question: How can I track my application status?

Answer: To track the application status, please log in your ACASC personal account. Whenever there’s an update, you will be informed on your application status through ACASC system within a day as soon as we receive university’s notification. You will simultaneously receive ACASC auto-email about the application status. · Question: How to deal with a pending application?

Answer: When an application is pending a decision it means that your school has received it and no admissions decision has been made yet. The admissions office may have reviewed your application package or may not have.

The main cause of a pending application is usually incomplete application documents. As a result you will be requested by the school’s admission office to re-check and modify all submitted application documents or perhaps even add extra documents and then re-submit them.

To avoid further delays, carefully read the university’s comments, modify your application form on ACASC, and re-upload the required application documents. You can contact ACASC on admission@acasc.cn for any help with regards to your pending application

· How long does it take to process my application?

Processing time varies for different applications. For example to process a degree program application requires more time than a Chinese language application. Confirmation for Chinese language application by the admission office usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. However, time for degree programs application differs. For example fall semester application processing is after March, and it takes a period of 1 to 2 months. This also depends on your qualification and the number of applicants.
