Computer Science and Technology (Teacher Education) is a time-honored discipline. In line with the purpose of “Integrating Software-hardware and Facing Application” in undergraduate education, it aims to cultivating high-qualified professional faculty and talents who are competent to the work related to computers in secondary schools and polytechnic schools. Through four years’ instruction, students are equipped with solid basic theory and professional knowledge, fundamental skills and the ability of system development in computer application, the understanding of the trend in modern computer science and technology, the acquaintance of the operating principle of computer system, the method and technology of programming, computer network technique and the knowledge of database system and its application. Students can also master the basic theories in education and psychology, uphold correct educational ideas and be competent in teaching.
This is a four-year undergraduate program, which can be completed within a minimum of three years and a maximum of seven years according to students’ specific circumstances.
A total of 174.5 credits are required upon the completion of the program, including 45 credits of General Education Curriculum, 35.5 credits of Basic Curriculum, 51 credits of Professional Essential Curriculum, 23 credits of Teacher Education Curriculum and 20 credits of Elective Curriculum.
Students who have fulfilled all courses stipulated in the teaching plan with qualified achievements, and meet the requirement of “the Academic Degrees Regulation of People’s Republic of China” and “Higher Education of Undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree Awarding Regulations of Nanjing Normal University (Amendment)”, will be awarded Bachelor’s Degree of Arts.
